The lunch menu

Next to airfare and accommodations, food has top spending potential. You'll avoid this when you order from the lunch menu for your "one big meal a day."

You've probably already figured out that you can buy ingredients at your local supermarket and cook them in your hostel/hotel room, apartment or kitchen for a fraction of the amount you'll spend eating in restaurants each day.

So you get a good breakfast, with as much protein and as few carbs as you can manage. You get a late lunch, ordering from the lunch menu to save money.

You may find that you don't feel like getting any food through the supper hour, but if you do, a snack eaten slowly (try street food) will likely keep you satisfied.

There. You just saved about $50 per day, per person. Doesn't it feel great?
